What guides us
Students should have a clear way in.
Research should be thoughtful and accessible.
Innovation should stay connected to people.
Ilakkiya Sri “Ila” Guganathan
Ila founded AIMed to make AI, medicine, and biomedical research more accessible to students. Her work helps learners move from curiosity to structured learning, research questions, and responsible innovation.
Through AIMed, she leads student programs, mentorship pathways, and community initiatives that connect emerging technology with healthcare education.
Student-led AI and medicine education
Biomedical research access for students
Mentorship and community building
AIMed is building an advisor network across medicine, biomedical research, education, AI, and responsible technology. Advisors help students review ideas, challenge assumptions, and connect projects with informed next steps.
Medicine and patient care
Connects student learning to clinical context, healthcare workflows, patient impact, and responsible medical decision-making.
Biomedical research and methods
Guides students on research questions, scientific reasoning, evidence review, project framing, and clear communication.
AI, data science, and open-source tools
Supports learning around model basics, data quality, tool selection, interpretation, and practical AI workflows.
Responsible technology
Helps students consider privacy, bias, safety, fairness, and the human impact of AI in medicine.
